Senior neuro surgeon Prof Dr Upendra Devkota has suffered from cancer. Devkota is currently receiving treatment in a London-based hospital.
A source close of family members ofUpendra Devkota shared with sopannews that Dr Upendra Devkota has suffered from pancreatic cancer.
Prof Dr Devkota had flown to London last week for the treatment once his illness was confirmed. The source told that Dr Upendra Devkota is receiving treatment in the King’s College Hospital in Denmark Hill, Brixton, London.
Dr Devkota is one of the renowned neurologist in the world having treated thousands of patients and producing hundreds of young doctors in different parts of the world.
Dr Devkota also served as the Health Minister of Nepal for less than a year in 2002.
Dr Devkota, who has established National Institute of Neurological and Allied Sciences in Kathmandu, had obtained a scholarship to specialize in neurosurgery from Glasgow Neuroscience Institute, UK.
