The OnePlus 2 will be the first flagship handset to come with a Type C-USB port, the company behind the smartphone announced on Tuesday. This means, the OnePlus 2 will have a single USB port to rule them all although it’s still not clear whether this would be the only port on-board the upcoming handset.
The OnePlus 2, successor to the One is expected to launch sometime in Q3, 2015 and already the company has started dropping in hints regarding what’s in store.
The inclusion of a Type C-USB to the OnePlus 2 means users won’t have to fidget about with wires and cables, and more importantly care about the right way to plug them in.
By the looks of things initially, it is pretty evident that the 2 will be a major overhaul to the One both in terms of hardware and software.
The company recently announced that the 2 will be powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor. The flagship handset will be “cooler than ever”, OnePlus has stressed trying to play down the overheating issues associated with Qualcomm’s new chip.
The OnePlus 2 will likely come with a quad HD display and run the company’s custom OxygenOS on top of Android Lollipop.
With all the intricacies involved, the OnePlus 2 is likely to be hefty on your pocket. Unlike the OnePlus One, its successor will be pricier. This has been suggested by the company as well.
