Greetings Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to ‘Yunnan Specialties Exhibition’
I would like to firstly say thank you for all guests gathering here today, thank you for coming and hopefully in the next two hours program, you will have a better understanding of Yunnan province and Yunnan product, and maybe you can together have some insights of Yunnan.
Moreover, today we’re honored to invite some important guests join in us, let’s round of applause to welcome Commercial Counselor of the Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, Mr. Zhang Fan, welcome. And Nepal Communist Party Central Committee Member, former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal to People’s Republic of China Mr. Tanka Prasad Karki, welcome. And Chairman of China-Nepal Executives Council Mr. Anoop Ranjan Bhattarai, welcome. And Executive Member and Trade Fair Committee member, FNCCI Chairperson Mr. Dil Sundar Shrestha, welcome. And all guests from government agencies, NGOs, Nepal companies, Chinese companies, and media, thank you to participate in this event.
Firstly, I’d like to introduce ORO Nepal. Established in 2015, based in Senepa Chowk, Patan, with the purpose of ‘Leading Yunnan companies to enter Nepal market as well as introducing Nepal companies to Yunnan market’, ORO Nepal bears the motto of ‘Publicize, Coordinate, Serve and Protect Enterprises’. Over the last four years, we introduced numerous trading and investment opportunities to Yunnan companies, helping them to set up branches in Nepal, as well as we brought local products like tea, coffee, Pashmina, Thangka, wood carvings to Yunnan market. As you may know, Yunnan is holding China-South Asia Expo every year during June, our office introduced a lot of Nepal retailers to participate and I believe most of them have succeeded of entering Yunnan market and further to the whole China market. Last year, 2017, we had brought the China-South Asia Expo to have an exhibition in Nepal, with the exhibitors from China, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Myanmar. It was the first time of China-South Asia Expo holding in other countries.
Secondly, I’d like to introduce why we’re holding today’s event. Let’s together watch an introduction video of Yunnan Province. Under the ‘Belt and Road Initiative’, Yunnan Provincial Government has proposed a sub-initiative of three parts – “Organic Food, Clean Energy, and Healthy Living Destination”. As you can see from the video, Yunnan and Nepal actually have the same climate environment, geological conditions, natural resources, and agricultural products. Therefore Nepal is an ideal place for Yunnan companies to start their overseas cooperation. Today we brought some organic food samples from Yunnan, and more importantly, we brought a list of Yunnan companies who provides these products as well as some of these companies wish to share their processing technology and joint venture their processing plants in Nepal. I hope this event will further improve relationships between Yunnan companies to Nepal companies. If you have any interest in contacting these companies, feel free to tell us, we’ll help you as much as we can. Thank you.
