Kathmandu: Diploma in Biomedical Equipment Engineering Course has been formally launched for the first time in the country.
National Health Training Center has started the course aimed to producing skilled human resources required for repairing, installing and supervising health equipments. The Nick Simons Institute has lent financial and technical assistance to the center affiliated with the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) to start the course.
Minister for Health and Population Khagaraj Adhikari inaugurated the course amidst a programme here Sunday. The 18- month course will complete in three semesters. Students completing the 10+2 education under the faculty of Science can apply for the course. Knowledge on handling of over 40 medical equipments and devices including X-ray, ultrasound machines, ventilator and dialysis equipments will be imparted under the course.
The government is working with the project to increase the quota of biomedical equipment technicians and engineers, the Minister said on the occasion. RSS
