Kathmandu: A quake-hit school building was reconstructed with support from the Chinese assistance.  The first permanently re-built school building of Yuba Sahabhagita Secondary School was constructed with support from the Chinese people after the devastating Gorkha Earthquake 2015.

A ceremony was organized on September 19 to handover the newly reconstructed Yuba Sahabhagita Secondary School (Yuba SS) in Kathmandu. Yuba SS reconstruction project was donated by Suning Group Company Limited (Suning Group), and operated by China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (CFPA).

As the quake severely damaged the school building, around 700 students had to pursue their education with much difficulty under the tin-roof that used to get wet and muddy during rainy season while very hot in the summer.

Luckily, the unpleasant learning period finally ended. With the newly re-constructed Yuba SS, all the students can now study back at the bright and pleasant classrooms.

The ceremony began with the Chinese and Nepalese national songs followed by lighting Nepali traditional oil lamp “Panas” symbolizing best wishes.

Vice Chairman Sun shared his understanding of charity in his speech. He addressed, “Suning Group would like to become a Charity Doer, letting the “charity seed” fly over the top of the Himalayas and grow from the heart of the students at Suning – Yuba Sahabhagita School.”

In addition, Mr. Sun expressed his sincere thanks to the Government of Nepal, the Chinese Embassy, the NRC, CFAP, as well as the diligent workers for the reconstruction. Moreover, he wished that students would do better progress and work for their nation loving her as own mother.
