President Bidya Devi Bhandari marked the beginning of the Eighth China Festival in Nepal and Ballet Gala in the capital city on Tuesday. President Bhandari inaugurated the two-day cultural event by lightning a lamp which is to be performed by National Ballet of China and jointly hosted by Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal, Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China and the Embassy of China in Nepal. After the inauguration of the event, President Bhandari gracefully inspected the Chinese performances namely, Excerpt from Pas de Quatre, Changqing Showing the Way, Excerpt from Swan Lake Act II and Except from Variations for Four. The National Ballet of China was established in 1959 and all the artists come from professional academies. The National Ballet of China serves as a cultural envoy, the organizers said.
